What is the Elk Grove Invitational?
The Elk Grove Invitational (“Event”) is a soccer event hosted by clubs in the Elk Grove Youth Soccer League (EGYSL) and is for Division IV, or Recreational, teams within District 6 of the California Youth Soccer Association (CYSA). Boys and Girls teams in the U10 (including U9), U12 (including U11), U14 (including U13), U16, & U19 age divisions are invited to enter this year.

The event is intended to give recreational teams a chance to play in a competitive, tournament-like setting, and increase the player’s interest in the sport of soccer.

When and Where is it taking place?
The Event will take place October 15th and 16th at various fields in EGYSL. The Event will be played in accordance with Elk Grove Youth Soccer League, CYSA, and FIFA rules and regulations except as modified further in these rules.

How does it work?
The games, event scoring and awards are similar to the tournaments held for Competitive teams in CYSA. It is planned that each team will play three or four games in the event – two on Saturday and either one or two on Sunday. The top teams from each age group will play championship and consolation games on Sunday afternoon. Teams will receive awards for first, second, and third place. All players and coaches will also receive a tournament T-shirt and an event program. The Event will be played in accordance with CYSA and FIFA rules and regulations, and referees will be provided by the host clubs.

How do I enter my team?
Applications for this event are being taken now for the event. An application form is attached to this flyer. The cost is $300 per team – applications are due by October 1st.
